PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port has authorized the port of Hampton Roads to resume normal operations.
The Captain of the Port is working closely with the port industry, Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Virginia Pilot Association and local marine law enforcement units to minimize risk as the port returns to normalcy.
Coast Guard personnel are conducting post hurricane damage assessments throughout the port.
