Coast Guard, local agency search for 1 near Belmar, N.J.

BELMAR, N.J. - The Coast Guard and members of the Belmar Police Department are searching for a 20-year-old man wearing a black tank top and black shorts after he went swimming and could not be located off the coast of Belmar Thursday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 8:06 p.m. from a member of the Belmar Police Department reporting there was a person in the water in distress.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, N.J., a rescue helicopter crew form Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., and members of the Belmar Police Department along the shore are currently searching for the man.
