Coast Guard searches for 1 near Asbury Park, N.J.

ASBURY PARK, N.J. - The Coast Guard is searching for a 23-year-old man wearing blue shorts after he drifted under the surface of the water and did not resurface at Asbury Park Beach Tuesday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 5:38 p.m. from a member of the Asbury Park Police Department reporting the man went into the water and could not be located.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Shark River, N.J., and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., are currently searching.
