Coast Guard to conduct hurricane warning flights

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Media are invited to ride along as a Coast Guard HC-130J Hercules airplane crew flies along the east coast Wednesday making Urgent Marine Information Broadcasts about Hurricane Earl.

What: Coast Guard safety broadcast from aircraft to notify mariners of the approaching hurricane.

Where: Air Station Elizabeth City, 1183 Weeksville Road, Elizabeth City, NC, 27909.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 1, 9 a.m.
