UNITAS

PACIFIC COAST, Colombia - Ensign Justin Forbes test's a bail of white-powdery substance found in a 55-pound bail floating off the coast of Colombia. The substance tested positive for cocaine. The crew of cutter Forward found the bail floating while participating in UNITAS, a two-week naval exercise involving 18 ships, two submarines and 18 fixed and rotary wing aircraft from Colombian, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and the United States. UNITAS is a Spanish phrase that stands for "togetherness." The purpose of UNITAS is to foster cooperation and develop naval interoperability in the region.
