BEAUFORT, N.C. - Coast Guard and sea turtle rehabilitation personnel release a turtle back to the sea 40 miles southeast of Beaufort Inlet, March 9, 2010. Five green turtles from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, and five loggerhead turtles from the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores were released where gulf stream waters have a constant water temperature of 70 degrees. The Coast Guard Station Fort Macon crew used their 47-foot Motor Lifeboat to take the turtles, rehabilitation personnel and a person from the Carteret High School science department to the release location.
