BALTIMORE - The Coast Guard is urging mariners to stay in port as foul weather from Virginia to New Jersey is expected to make its way through the area this weekend.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a winter storm warning in effect from 6 a.m., Friday to 10 p.m., Saturday for Maryland. Winds are expected to reach up to 15 knots and gusts to 25 knots on Saturday. Accumulation of 20 to 28 inches of snow is expected throughout the weekend.
Regions to the south can expect heavy rain.
