Media Availability to be held at Port Facility

Who: Unified Command in charge of cleaning up explosives at the N.C. State Port facility in Morehead City.

What: Discussion of factors in Port facility closure and current state of cleanup efforts.

Where: Public parking lot off 3rd St., near Port Facility in Morehead City.

 

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. - The Unified Command in charge of cleaning up explosives that spilled at the State Port Facility Tuesday continues to safely remove the hazardous materials from the area.

The waterways around Morehead City remain open. There is only a temporary safety zone around the State Port Facility that remains in effect until the situation is safely resolved.

Regular operations at the State Port Facility are temporarily suspended until the explosives are safely removed from the facility.

More information regarding the explosives spill will be available at the media availability at 1:20 p.m.
