PHILADELPHIA - The Coast Guard and local authorities are searching for a 21-year old male near Marcus Hook, Pa., after the 15-foot boat he was aboard capsized in the Delaware River Friday.
Missing is Joel Arizza of Lansdowne, Pa.
The Coast Guard received a call at 3:30 a.m. from a crewmember aboard the tug boat Timothy Mcallister reporting a submerged 15-foot boat. Members of Delaware Environmental reported they spoke with Kevin Kelly, who swam ashore at Chester Boat Ramp near Flowers Street, stating he was on the boat that capsized and his friend is missing.
A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia, members of the Delaware County Fire and Rescue, New Jersey State Police, Tinicum Fire and Rescue from Essington, Pa., and the Chester Police Department are searching for Arizza.
Kelly was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester by members of the Lansdowne Police Department for observation.
Arizza was reported to not be wearing a life jacket.
