Swedish Coast Guard representatives visit Baltimore

BALTIMORE - Capt. Mark O'Malley, the commanding officer of Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, sits with Michael Mohr, the secretary general of the Swedish Coast Guard, Kristina Bram, the desk officer at the Ministry of Defence in Sweden, Hans Lindqvist, the deputy director general of the Swedish Coast Guard, and Judith Melin, the director general of the Swedish Coast Guard during their tour of Sector Baltimore Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. "I was extremely pleased and honored to host the Swedish Coast Guard as our services have common missions of search and rescue, marine environmental protection, border control, and law enforcement," said O'Malley. "Moreover we are both small services that are steeped in history and provide extraordinary value to our citizens. Our exchange of ideas, best practices and fellowship made for a very pleasant and rewarding visit." (Coast Guard photo/Petty Officer 3rd Class Brandyn Hill)
