Coast Guard rescues 1 near Absecon Inlet, N.J.

ABSECON INLET, N.J. - The Coast Guard rescued one person who was aboard a disabled 24-foot boat 25 miles east of Absecon Inlet, N.J., Friday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:10 a.m. from a crew member aboard the Wanderer reporting his rudder was stuck and he was unable to lower his sails.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and took the Wanderer and its crew into tow.

The rescue boat crew transferred the tow to Sea Tow who towed the Wanderer and its crew to Kammerman's Marina in Atlantic City.

No injuries were reported.
