Delaware River and Bay Oil Spill Advisory Committee to hold meeting

LEWES, Del.— Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia announces the Delaware River and Bay Oil Spill Advisory Committee is scheduled to hold a public meeting at the Virden Center, 700 Pilottown Road, Lewes, Del., 19958 at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009.

The DRBOSAC is a Federal Advisory Committee that was established under authority of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2006, as a result of the oil spill from the tanker vessel Athos I, which occurred in November 2004. Its purpose is to provide advice and recommendations to improve oil spill prevention and response to future oil spills on the Delaware River and Delaware Bay.
