PORTSMOUTH, Va - Lt. Cmdr. Alain V. Balmaceda assumed command of the Coast Guard Training Team East Aug. 13 at the Coast Gaurd's Intergrated Support Command here.
Capt. William J. Milne, commanding officer of Training Center Yorktown, presided over the commissioning ceremony.
Training Team East’s 43 active-duty, reserve, and civilian personnel are divided into five divisions – maritime law enforcement, special and emergency operations and procedures, patrol forces Southwest Asia pre-deployment training, administration, and supply.
Yearly, personnel travel for more than 26 weeks and train more than 3000 Coast Guard personnel.
