HOPEWELL, Va. - The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing 59-year-old male in the James River at 3:01 p.m., Sunday.
Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Hampton Road, Va., received notification at 6:56 p.m., Saturday, that a boat with two brothers on board capsized.
One person made it to shore and the other was seen going under water and not surfacing. He was reported not to be a strong swimmer and not wearing a life jacket.
A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth, N.C., and a Coast Guard Auxiliary rescue boat crew, searched an area of approximately 25 square miles for 20 hours along with Charles County Police Department, and Virginia Department of Wildlife and Game.
