Coast Guard suspends search for missing swimmers in Delaware River near Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - The Coast Guard suspended its search Saturday at approximately 1 p.m., for an 11-year-old male who went missing in the Delaware River near Philadelphia.

The Coast Guard along with local authorities searched approximately 26-square miles for approximately 9 hours.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia searched throughout the night with local authorities and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., conducted a first light search Saturday.
