Coast Guard recovers 1 near Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. - The Coast Guard recovered an unresponsive man Monday near Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.

The Coast Guard received a call at 7:20 p.m. from a member of the Point Pleasant Police Department reporting a person having difficulty swimming in the surf.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, N.J., arrived on scene and recovered the man. A Coast Guard member on the rescue boat began conducting chest compressions on him.

The rescue boat crew transported the man to Station Manasquan and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical personnel. The man was taken to Brick Memorial Hospital in Brick, N.J.
