Coast Guard and local authorities search for person in the water off Newport News, Va.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Coast Guard is searching for a 42 year old male in the waters off the Newport News Marine Terminal Saturday.

Missing is Angelo Burnett of Newport News.

Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Hampton Roads received a report at approximately 4 a.m. from 911 operators of a person in the water. The Coast Guard issued an urgent marine information broadcast notifying boaters in the area to be on the look out for the man. The Newport News Police Department arrived on scene and requested assistance from the Coast Guard to aid in the search for the missing person.

An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter rescue from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C. along with Station Portsmouth, NNPD and Newport News Fire Department rescue crews are currently on scene searching for the missing man.
