PORTSMOUTH, Va. - The Coast Guard Captain of the Port of Hampton Roads reopened the Elizabeth River from the Belt Line Bridge to the Norfolk and Western Portsmouth Chesapeake Railroad Bridge at 10:30 p.m. Monday following the removal of a span of the Jordan Bridge.

The Coast Guard closed the waterway at 5:30 a.m. Sunday and established a safety zone around the bridge.
