U.S. Congressman visits Coast Guard Atlantic Area Command

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Rep. Glenn Nye (D–Va.), of Virginia’s 2nd District Southeast, meets with Vice Adm. Robert J. Papp, Jr., (left) Commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area command in Portsmouth, Monday, April 27, 2009.

During the meeting Papp discussed current Coast Guard priorities such as modernization, workforce issues and DoD parity for personnel benefits. He also answered questions about Coast Guard operational capabilities in the region.
