ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - A Coast Guard helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., took two scientists Tuesday from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration to search for dolphins in the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers in northern New Jersey.
The survey was the first aerial survey and the first since ice formation in the rivers precluded water-based sighting surveys, last conducted on January 13 when five animals were confirmed to still be in the rivers.
No dolphins were sighted in the area during the flight.
