Coast Guard member rescues 3, receives the Air Medal

Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Tye Conklin, a rescue swimmer from Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., is awarded the Air Medal by Capt. Paul Ratte, the commanding officer of the air station, at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, N.J., Friday, Jan. 9, 2009. Conklin received the Air Medal after rescuing one person from a sailboat that ran aground off the coast of Ocean City, Md., and two people aboard the research boat Russell W.
