Coast Guard medevacs man from vessel 70 miles off NJ coast

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City medevacs a 21-year-old male from the fishing vessel Friendship who was reported as having abdominal pains 70 miles east of here Jan. 23, 2012. The crewmember was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City where he was reported to be in stable condition. U.S. Coast Guard video. 

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 21-year-old man off a 100-foot fishing vessel approximately 70 miles east of here at approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday.

The crew from the fishing vessel Friendship called watchstanders at Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City at approximately 6 a.m. stating a crewmember was experiencing severe abdominal pains and in need of assistance.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and hoisted the crewmember into the helicopter.  The crewmember was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
